We are pleased to announce that CEO Dr. Ben Goertzel will join Gary Marcus, Emeritus Professor of Psychology and Neural Science at NYU, for a fireside chat about the future of AI and Beneficial AGI this Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, at 18:00 UTC.
Gary Marcus is a leading voice in AI. He is a scientist, best-selling author, and serial entrepreneur. He is well-known for his challenges to contemporary AI, and for his research in human language development and cognitive neuroscience.
Last year, he sat between Sam Altman and Christina Montgomery, as all three testified before the Senate. Mr. Marcus argued for engaging the scientific community in developing standards for testing of AI and proposed an increase in funding for research focused on the safety of AI. He also called for a global approach and pointed out some of the harms that can occur, such as cybersecurity risks, if AI regulation does not occur.
